Ashley's Story

When I first visited Life Forward’s North College Hill Center for a pregnancy test, I was nervous, confused and fearful.  I was asked about my intentions if pregnant on the intake form and I checked “undecided.” I had plans for the future and they didn’t include a baby. I wasn’t even sure who the father might be.

I met with Client Educator Helen and she was great. She listened to me and didn’t judge me. She told me that it was possible that a pregnancy didn’t have to be the end of my life but a new beginning. Her words struck my heart. When my test was positive, I knew I wanted to parent my baby.

I know it’s not going to be easy but I’m glad that Helen and Life Forward are here to support me.
