Sierra's Story

“He’s disappeared.”

As I met with “Sierra” for her car seat safety class, she shared with me that the father of her baby has been an inconsistent presence throughout her pregnancy. She feared that he might not be present for the birth of their child.

What began as a conversation about car seat safety, instantly changed to a deeper spiritual conversation. She shared with me that she often goes several days without any communication from her baby’s father. With her fears now exposed, Sierra began to cry.

I shared with her that God cares about her and is always ready to listen. I encouraged her to pray about her worries and fears. As we ended our time together, Sierra thanked me for listening.
