Anthony's Story

“Anthony” first came to Life Forward’s Clifton location with his girlfriend because of their unplanned pregnancy. Before they left, the Life Forward team gave him a children’s Bible to read to his kids, a “man’s” (adult) Bible, and a fatherhood resource packet. They encouraged Anthony and shared with him that he was important in his children’s lives and that it was good for him to step up and lead.  

During a follow-up visit to Life Forward, Anthony shared that he was reading his “man” Bible.  He talked about how meaningful these gifts from Life Forward had been to him. “In pregnancy it’s usually all about the woman, but receiving those things was meaningful and helped me see I can be a good dad for my kids.” 

Sadly, we don’t often get to meet many dads at Life Forward. Some will never be involved in their children’s lives. So, when dads like Anthony visit, we do all we can to encourage them and provide them with resources and referrals for their journey of fatherhood. 

So, on this Father’s Day, on behalf of Anthony and all the dads and families we serve, we thank you for your generosity. When Anthony showed up at Life Forward, you helped us encourage and pour into him. You provided the Bibles for him to read and the resources for him to use. Your investment in Life is making a difference to children in our community who are now getting to hear their dad read stories from the Bible. Thank you for partnering with Life Forward to plant seeds of hope and faith in our community.
