Zoe's Story

When Zoe* first visited Life Forward, she was determined to raise her baby. However, she knew she would get no support from family or friends as a single mom. In fact, several people close to her were encouraging her and even pressuring her to have an abortion. When Zoe shared her circumstances with her Client Educator at Life Forward, she started to cry and was overcome with heavy emotions as the weight of her reality began to sink in.

Zoe shared that she believed that her pregnancy was a call from God to turn from what she felt was a chaotic lifestyle. “I just really want to get my life right,” she said. Zoe went to share that she believed that she needed to earn her way to God “by doing good things.” 

Her Client Educator took the opportunity to share the Gospel with Zoe. Zoe smiled when she heard that God was delighted that she was listening to Him and wanted to respond to His call.  She didn’t need to try to win God’s favor with good deeds. Instead, God wants a relationship with her through Jesus Christ. They ended their time in prayer and Zoe received a Bible from Life Forward. 

As she left her appointment that day, Zoe seemed to have a new kind of peace about her. She was still anxious about being a single mother with little help from her family and friends. Yet, she now knew that Life Forward is here to support her and that God was cheering her on as she moved forward and contemplated new life in Jesus.
