Millie's Story

The impact Life Forward has can be as simple as providing a car seat for a new mother or offering a free ultrasound for a fearful pregnant woman, but it can also stretch beyond fulfilling a tangible need. Millie* found herself in an unstable housing situation and in a harmful relationship. She was considering abortion at the time, yet it was primarily due to pressure from the baby’s father. She was crumbling in the fallout of bad choices. Like Millie, many women who come to Life Forward are often carrying emotional burdens, spiritual baggage, and mental turmoil.

After Millie met with Melissa at Life Forward, she knew she finally found the support needed to make changes.  A year later, she returned to Life Forward where she immediately recognized Melissa and introduced her to the little boy beside her in a car seat. He was the product of Millie’s answered prayers. Millie had created healthy boundaries, taking steps for life and steps toward growth. Not all women return to Life Forward, but in this scenario, Melissa was able to celebrate these victories with Millie. Standing where she stood broken and searching a year prior, Millie told Melissa, “I feel like I have hope again.”
