Kayla's Story

Kayla* found out she was pregnant and had an appointment for an abortion. She heard that she needed to have an ultrasound before having an abortion and so she came to Life Forward.

At Life Forward, Kayla met Hannah, Life Forward’s Assistant Client Services Director and sonographer. Kayla was tearful at times as she shared that she had found out when she became pregnant that there was a possibility that her baby could have a genetic disorder. Kayla didn’t think she could care for a baby with disabilities. 

Hannah encouraged Kayla to learn all she could about her options so that she could make an informed decision. Kayla was open to talking about faith and   Hannah also shared with her that her faith could help guide her. They ended their time together with prayer.

A few weeks later Hannah spoke with Kayla on the phone. Kayla shared that she is planning to parent her baby. She said, “I’m trying to go the direction that I think God is leading me”.
